Roy

Believe it or not, these all started out from the same photo; a publicity photograph of Roy Rogers.

This image came a bit before the next one.

Still working on this.  Want to add some more colors

Roy and Trigger update...

Finished article.   The pieces are held to the board with velcro.
Also added a made in America sticker.

Close up of unit. The knobs came off a discarded  Oscilloscope.

Don't forget the batteries.

Roy and Trigger Walkie Talkies

This is part of the packaging for a set of (non working) walkie-talkies that I am working on.
A pair of them will be placed in the center.  It's for the amusement of my friends.

From NASA

Yes, that is an astronaut. That must be such a feeling.

From the Banana Files

More Graphics

Done with Paint Shop. Would like to do something with the white background.  Maybe a beach scene or some gentle colors.

Yosemite

Dogwood blossoms

One night it snowed, then cleared up to a sunny day.

Yosemite Falls

Half Dome.  I keep thinking that if someone were on the top they would be in a cloud and have a totally different idea of what was going on with the weather.

More Dogwood blossoms at the Ahwahnee Hotel.  If you get to the valley this is a must see.  Go there for breakfast, you won't be sorry.

Yosemite

Near the bottom of Yosemite Falls

Sunrise from the parking lot at Camp Curry.

Rocky canyon sides are just everywhere. They really stand out with a late dusting of snow.

Dogwoods are in full bloom, ahead of most other plants.

View of the valley and Bridal Veil Falls. A beautiful lookout from a turn out called the Tunnel.

Half Dome is covered in clouds in the background. It's worth the trip.

Before and After

Just got Paint Shop Pro X3 installed. These were done with the really wild Kaleidoscope command. The photos were from Balboa Park in San Diego. It's a great place to visit.

Something to Think About

The Current Mass Extinction:

Is the biosphere today on the verge of anything like the mass extinctions of the geological past? Could some equivalent of meteorite impacts or dramatic climate change be underway, as humankind's rapid destruction of natural habitats forces animals and plants out of existence?

Increasingly, researchers are doing the numbers, and saying, yes, if present trends continue, a mass extinction is very likely underway. The evidence is pieced together from details drawn from all over the world, but it adds up to a disturbing picture. This time, unlike the past, it's not a chance asteroid collision, nor a chain of climatic circumstances alone that's at fault. Instead, it is chiefly the activities of an ever-growing human population, in concert with long-term environmental change.

Afternoon at Beach

Afternoon at Carlsbad. This was taken in early January. Living here is rough, but we get by.
