Sticthed Sunset

Images combined with softare "stiching". For reasons unknown to me the combined image is smaller in bytes than either of the originals.

More Altered Sunsets

All with 400mm Tokina. Fortunately the Security Police waited until the sun went down to run us out of the parking spots. They are reserved for boat trailers at Oceanside Harbor.

The winter rain opened the drain out to the ocean. So the marsh has much less water in it. Too bad what is there does not look all that clean. But these little doves found a perch. I did not see one Egret. Even though I was a good distance away they are all keeping an eye on me.

Love California

Drove to the beach last night to see and photograph the sunset. As you can see most of these images are altered in some way. The last one is flipped then sticthed. For some reason the software does not get rid of the seam.
To see these full size, click on the image. If that does not work let me know.

Vista Car Show

Photos from the Vista Pepper Tree Rod Run. Lots of cars to look at and some real high end custom hot rods. Ted and I had a great time wandering around looking at the cars and talking to some of the owners. I am kicking myself for not getting photos of a Ford Pantera that was being shown by the original owner. It was the original color of Lime Green and a very rare car. Also not shown is a 1960 Corvette convertable; restored in the original colors of silver and white. Just a beautiful restoration.
I also like the rusted hulk Rat Rods. They are refreshing to see as a counterpoint to the highly finished showboats. Fellas do you want to keep sanding, or go have fun?
Like the Kid said when he rammed the ferry into the dock, "It's all good..."

That's Ted looking at the purple Chevy

Sky Circle

There was a circle in the sky this afternoon. These were taken near the Oceanside CA pier.

It's the second time that I have seen something like it in this area. I also spotted a sky circle in the background of a news broadcast from Afghanistan. My speculation is that is a vapor trail from a military aircraft doing some type of maneuver in the sky.

I tried to run it down on the Internet. There are similar photos to be found but it quickly degenerates into a huge conspiracy theory about vapors being released into the atmosphere by some black government program. I am just at my limit on conspiracies and am unable to follow another one.
If you follow the trail it goes up over the sun.

If anyone has a clue as to why we see these in our sky let me know.

You may have heard this report on NPR’s Fresh Air. This story is all new to me.
It is about an American secretive society that smells like Fascism.

The interview is a good one and ought to be widely shared. In a way the story and
The players remind one of some fantastic and unbelievable screen play.

Cheers,
Old Dude

Always worth the trip. They change the display from time to time and it is always free to walk in and see the plants.

Oceanside "Top Gun House"

House used in movie "Top Gun"
It has been there for over 118 years; but it is in disrepair and will be removed or torn down to make way for a beach resort type development. It has a great view of the Pacific and the Oceanside Pier. It's a shame to let a historical house like this just fall apart.
