Project Wildlife 3-5-2012
We visited small street fair put on by Project Wildlife, the Humane Society, and others. They rescue wild birds and other animals with the idea to return them to nature. Wonderful work; and a lot of it done by volunteers.
Great Horned Owl. They have a double eyelids and have
funny way of blinking. They said he weighs 3 pounds.
He is doing the slow blink.
Raven
American Kestrel. His left eye is damaged so he could not hunt and survive
in the wild. They are small falcons.
Barn Owl. Except for the Raven, all these birds are amazingly calm.
The raven was pacing around and clearly wanted some action.
Project Wildlife and the Humane Society are next door
neighbors in San Diego.
Danny the Dog. He was rescued wandering around in a mall
with no one to take care of him. They guy that rescued him wrote
a children's book about him titled, "Danny Dog".
